حَدَّثَنَا بَهْزٌ حَدَّثَنَا عِكْرِمَةُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ حَدَّثَنَا إِيَاسُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي قَالَ خَرَجْنَا مَعَ أَبِي بَكْرِ بْنِ أَبِي قُحَافَةَ وَأَمَّرَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَيْنَا قَالَ غَزَوْنَا فَزَارَةَ فَلَمَّا دَنَوْنَا مِنْ الْمَاءِ أَمَرَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ فَعَرَّسْنَا قَالَ فَلَمَّا صَلَّيْنَا الصُّبْحَ أَمَرَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ فَشَنَنَّا الْغَارَةَ فَقَتَلْنَا عَلَى الْمَاءِ مَنْ قَتَلْنَا قَالَ سَلَمَةُ ثُمَّ نَظَرْتُ إِلَى عُنُقٍ مِنْ النَّاسِ فِيهِ الذُّرِّيَّةُ وَالنِّسَاءُ نَحْوَ الْجَبَلِ وَأَنَا أَعْدُو فِي آثَارِهِمْ فَخَشِيتُ أَنْ يَسْبِقُونِي إِلَى الْجَبَلِ فَرَمَيْتُ بِسَهْمٍ فَوَقَعَ بَيْنَهُمْ وَبَيْنَ الْجَبَلِ قَالَ فَجِئْتُ بِهِمْ أَسُوقُهُمْ إِلَى أَبِي بَكْرٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ حَتَّى أَتَيْتُهُ عَلَى الْمَاءِ وَفِيهِمْ امْرَأَةٌ مِنْ فَزَارَةَ عَلَيْهَا قَشْعٌ مِنْ أَدَمٍ وَمَعَهَا ابْنَةٌ لَهَا مِنْ أَحْسَنِ الْعَرَبِ قَالَ فَنَفَّلَنِي أَبُو بَكْرٍ ابْنَتَهَا قَالَ فَمَا كَشَفْتُ لَهَا
ثَوْبًا حَتَّى قَدِمْتُ الْمَدِينَةَ ثُمَّ بِتُّ فَلَمْ أَكْشِفْ لَهَا ثَوْبًا قَالَ فَلَقِيَنِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي السُّوقِ فَقَالَ لِي يَا سَلَمَةُ هَبْ لِي الْمَرْأَةَ قَالَ فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ وَاللَّهِ لَقَدْ أَعْجَبَتْنِي وَمَا كَشَفْتُ لَهَا ثَوْبًا قَالَ فَسَكَتَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَتَرَكَنِي حَتَّى إِذَا كَانَ مِنْ الْغَدِ لَقِيَنِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي السُّوقِ فَقَالَ يَا سَلَمَةُ هَبْ لِي الْمَرْأَةَ لِلَّهِ أَبُوكَ قَالَ قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ وَاللَّهِ أَعْجَبَتْنِي مَا كَشَفْتُ لَهَا ثَوْبًا وَهِيَ لَكَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ فَبَعَثَ بِهَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِلَى أَهْلِ مَكَّةَ وَفِي أَيْدِيهِمْ أُسَارَى مِنْ الْمُسْلِمِينَ فَفَدَاهُمْ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِتِلْكَ الْمَرْأَةِ

English Translation
Bahz narrated to us, ʿIkrimah ibn ʿAmmār narrated to us, Iyās ibn Salamah narrated to us, he said: my father narrated to me, saying: We went out with Abū Bakr ibn Abī Quḥāfah, and the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ had appointed him over us. He said: We raided Fazārah, and when we drew near to the water, Abū Bakr ordered us to halt and rest. When we prayed Fajr, Abū Bakr ordered us and we launched the raid. We killed at the water those we killed. Salamah said: Then I saw a group of people, including women and children, heading toward the mountain, and I ran after them. I feared they would reach the mountain before me, so I shot an arrow that landed between them and the mountain. He said: So I brought them, driving them to Abū Bakr رضي الله عنه until I reached him at the water. Among them was a woman from Fazārah wearing a leather garment, and with her was a daughter of hers, one of the most beautiful of the Arabs. He said: Abū Bakr gave me her daughter as spoils. He said: I did not uncover a garment of hers until I reached Madīnah, then I spent the night without uncovering a garment of hers. The Messenger of Allāh ﷺ met me in the marketplace and said to me: "O Salamah, give me the woman." I said: O Messenger of Allāh, by Allāh she has impressed me, and I have not uncovered a garment of hers. He said: The Messenger of Allāh ﷺ remained silent and left me. The next day, the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ met me in the marketplace and said: "O Salamah, give me the woman, may Allāh bless your father." I said: O Messenger of Allāh, by Allāh she has impressed me, but I have not uncovered a garment of hers — she is yours, O Messenger of Allāh. He said: So the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ sent her to the people of Makkah, who had Muslim captives, and the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ ransomed them with that woman.
