English Translation

Ziyād ibn ʿAbdillāh al-Bakkāʾī narrated to us saying: Manṣūr narrated to us, from ʿĀmir, from Abū Karīmah — a man from the Companions of the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ — who said: The Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said: "Hosting a guest for one night is obligatory upon every Muslim. If he finds himself in [the host's] courtyard in the morning deprived, it becomes a debt upon him. If he wishes, he may collect it; and if he wishes, he may leave it."
