English Translation
Abū al-Yamān narrated to us: Abū Bakr ibn Abī Maryam narrated to us, he said: Al-Miqdām ibn Maʿdī Karib had a slave-girl who sold milk, and al-Miqdām would collect the payment. It was said to him: 'SubḥānAllāh! You sell milk and collect the payment?' He said: 'Yes, and what is wrong with that? I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: There will surely come upon people a time when nothing will benefit except dinars and dirhams.'
