بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ جَابِرٍ يَقُولُ حَدَّثَنِي بُسْرُ بْنُ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ وَاثِلَةَ بْنَ الْأَسْقَعِ صَاحَبَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو مَرْثَدٍ الْغَنَوِيُّ سَمِعَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ لَا تُصَلُّوا إِلَى الْقُبُورِ وَلَا تَجْلِسُوا عَلَيْهَا

English Translation

Al-Walīd ibn Muslim narrated to us, he said: I heard Ibn Jābir say: Busr ibn ʿUbaydillāh al-Ḥaḍramī narrated to me, that he heard Wāthilah ibn al-Asqaʿ, the Companion of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, say: Abū Marthad al-Ghanawī narrated to me that he heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: 'Do not pray toward graves, and do not sit upon them.'
