English Translation
Abū al-Naḍr narrated to us: Shuʿbah narrated to us, from Yaḥyā ibn Abī Sulaym, he said: I heard ʿAbāyah ibn Rifāʿah ibn Rāfiʿ ibn Khadīj narrating that his grandfather, when he died, left a slave-girl, a water-drawing camel, a slave boy who was a cupper, and land. the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ruled regarding the slave-girl and prohibited her earnings — Shuʿbah said: fearing she might commit prostitution — and he said: 'What the cupper earns, feed it to the water-drawing camel.' And regarding the land, he said: 'Cultivate it or leave it.'
