English Translation

Abū ʿAbd al-Raḥmān al-Juhanī narrated: While we were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, two riders appeared. When he saw them he said: "Kindī, Madhḥijī," until they came to him, and they were men from Madhḥij. One of them approached to give his pledge, and when he took his hand, he said: "O Messenger of Allah, what about the one who sees you, believes in you, affirms you, and follows you — what does he have?" He said: "Ṭūbā (glad tidings/a tree in Paradise) for him." He wiped his hand and left. Then the other came and took his hand to give his pledge and said: "O Messenger of Allah, what about the one who believes in you, affirms you, and follows you, yet has not seen you?" He said: "Ṭūbā for him, then ṭūbā for him, then ṭūbā for him." He wiped his hand and left.
