English Translation
Sufyān ibn ʿUyaynah narrated to us, ʿAbd al-Malik ibn Abjar narrated to me, from Iyād ibn Laqīṭ, from Abū Rimthah, who said: "I came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ with my father. He saw the lump on his back and said: 'O Messenger of Allah, shall I not treat it for you? For I am a physician.' He said: 'You are a healer, but Allah is the Physician.' He said: 'Who is this with you?' I said: 'My son.' He said: 'Bear witness to him.' He then said: 'Indeed, he shall not bear your crime, nor shall you bear his crime.'" The name of Abū Rimthah was Rifāʿah ibn Yathribī.
