حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ بْنُ عُمَيْرٍ عَنْ إِيَادِ بْنِ لَقِيطٍ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو رِمْثَةَ التَّمِيمِيُّ قَالَ أَتَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ

وَسَلَّمَ وَمَعِي ابْنٌ لِي فَقَالَ هَذَا ابْنُكَ قُلْتُ نَعَمْ أَشْهَدُ بِهِ قَالَ لَا يَجْنِي عَلَيْكَ وَلَا تَجْنِي عَلَيْهِ قَالَ وَرَأَيْتُ الشَّيْبَ أَحْمَرَ

English Translation

Hushaym narrated to us, ʿAbd al-Malik ibn ʿUmayr informed us, from Iyād ibn Laqīṭ, who said: Abū Rimthah al-Tamīmī informed me, saying: "I came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and with me was a son of mine. He said: 'Is this your son?' I said: 'Yes, I bear witness to it.' He said: 'He shall not bear your crime, nor shall you bear his crime.'" He said: "And I saw his grey hair dyed red."
