English Translation

Yazīd ibn Hārūn narrated to us, al-Masʿūdī informed us, from Iyād ibn Laqīṭ, from Abū Rimthah, who said: "I came to the Prophet ﷺ while he was delivering a sermon saying: 'The upper hand is the giving hand — your mother, your father, your sister, your brother, then the nearest and then the nearest.'" He said: "Then a group from Banū Thaʿlabah ibn Yarbūʿ entered, and a man from the Anṣār said: 'O Messenger of Allah, these are the Yarbūʿīs who killed so-and-so.' the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'No soul bears the crime of another' — twice." ʿAbdullāh narrated to us, Muḥammad ibn Bakkār ibn al-Rayyān narrated to us, Qays ibn al-Rabīʿ al-Asadī narrated to us, from Iyād ibn Laqīṭ, from Abū Rimthah, who said: "I went with my father while I was a boy, and we came to a man sitting in the shade of a house at noon, wearing two green garments, his hair was a wafrā with traces of henna on his head." He said: "My father said to me: 'Do you know who this is?' I said: 'No.' He said: 'This is the Messenger of Allah ﷺ'" — and he mentioned the hadith.
