حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْحَمِيدِ عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي زِيَادٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ بْنِ رَبِيعَةَ قَالَ دَخَلَ الْعَبَّاسُ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ الل
َّهِ إِنَّا لَنَخْرُجُ فَنَرَى قُرَيْشًا تَحَدَّثُ فَإِذَا رَأَوْنَا سَكَتُوا فَغَضِبَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَدَرَّ عِرْقٌ بَيْنَ عَيْنَيْهِ ثُمَّ قَالَ وَاللَّهِ لَا يَدْخُلُ قَلْبَ امْرِئٍ إِيمَانٌ حَتَّى يُحِبَّكُمْ لِلَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ وَلِقَرَابَتِي

English Translation
Jarīr ibn ʿAbd al-Ḥamīd narrated to us, from Yazīd ibn Abī Ziyād, from ʿAbdullāh ibn al-Ḥārith, from ʿAbd al-Muṭṭalib ibn Rabīʿah, who said: "Al-ʿAbbās entered upon the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said: 'O Messenger of Allah, when we go out we see the Quraysh talking to each other, but when they see us they fall silent.' the Messenger of Allah ﷺ became angry and a vein swelled between his eyes, then he said: 'By Allah, faith does not enter the heart of any person until he loves you for the sake of Allah عز وجل and because of my kinship.'"
