English Translation

Rawḥ narrated to us, Shuʿbah narrated to us, from ʿAbd Rabbihi ibn Saʿīd, from Ibn Abī Anas, from ʿAbdullāh ibn Nāfiʿ ibn al-ʿAmyāʾ, from ʿAbdullāh ibn al-Ḥārith, from al-Muṭṭalib, that the Prophet ﷺ said: "The prayer is two by two. You make tashahhud in every two rakʿahs, show humility and neediness, raise your hands and say: 'O Allah, O Allah.' Whoever does not do this, his prayer is deficient." Shuʿbah said: "I said: 'His prayer is deficient?' He said: 'Yes.' I said to him: 'What is iqnāʿ?' He spread his hands as if making supplication."
