حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَكْرٍ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي ابْنُ طَاوُسٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْرَائِيلَ قَالَ دَخَلَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْمَسْجِدَ وَأَبُو إِسْر
َائِيلَ يُصَلِّي فَقِيلَ لِلنَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ هُوَ ذَا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ لَا يَقْعُدُ وَلَا يُكَلِّمُ النَّاسَ وَلَا يَسْتَظِلُّ وَهُوَ يُرِيدُ الصِّيَامَ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لِيَقْعُدْ وَلْيُكَلِّمْ النَّاسَ وَلْيَسْتَظِلَّ وَلْيَصُمْ

English Translation
ʿAbd al-Razzāq narrated to us, Ibn Jurayj narrated to us — and Muḥammad ibn Bakr said: Ibn Jurayj informed me — who said: Ibn Ṭāwūs informed me, from his father, from Abū Isrāʾīl, who said: "the Prophet ﷺ entered the mosque while Abū Isrāʾīl was praying. It was said to the Prophet ﷺ: 'This is Abū Isrāʾīl, O Messenger of Allah. He will not sit down, will not speak to people, will not seek shade, and he intends to fast.' the Prophet ﷺ said: 'Let him sit down, let him speak to people, let him seek shade, and let him fast.'"
