حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا وُهَيْبٌ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ خُثَيْمٍ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي رَاشِدٍ عَنْ يَعْلَى الْعَامِرِيِّ أَنَّهُ جَاءَ حَسَنٌ وَحُسَيْ
نٌ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى عَنْهُمَا يَسْتَبِقَانِ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَضَمَّهُمَا إِلَيْهِ وَقَالَ إِنَّ الْوَلَدَ مَبْخَلَةٌ مَجْبَنَةٌ وَإِنَّ آخِرَ وَطْأَةٍ وَطِئَهَا الرَّحْمَنُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ بِوَجٍّ

English Translation
ʿAffān narrated to us, Wuhayb narrated to us, ʿAbdullāh ibn ʿUthmān ibn Khuthaym narrated to us, from Saʿīd ibn Abī Rāshid, from Yaʿlā al-ʿĀmirī, that Ḥasan and Ḥusayn رضي الله تعالى عنهما came racing to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. He embraced them both and said: "Children are a cause of miserliness and cowardice. And the last footstep that the Most Merciful عز وجل placed was at Wajj."
