حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا قَتَادَةُ عَنْ شَهْرِ بْنِ حَوْشَبٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ غَنْمٍ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ خَارِجَةَ قَالَ كُنْتُ آخِذًا بِزِمَامِ نَاقَةِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهِيَ تَقْصَعُ بِجِرَّتِهَا وَلُعَابُهَا يَسِيلُ بَيْنَ كَتِفَيَّ فَقَالَ إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ أَعْطَى لِكُلِّ ذِي حَقٍّ حَقَّهُ وَلَيْسَ لِوَارِثٍ وَصِيَّةٌ الْوَلَدُ لِلْفِرَاشِ وَلِلْعَاهِرِ الْحَجَرُ وَمَنْ ادَّعَى إِلَى غَيْرِ أَبِيهِ أَوْ انْتَمَى إِلَى غَ
يْرِ مَوَالِيهِ فَعَلَيْهِ لَعْنَةُ اللَّهِ وَالْمَلَائِكَةِ وَالنَّاسِ أَجْمَعِينَ قَالَ عَفَّانُ وَزَادَ فِيهِ هَمَّامٌ بِهَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ وَلَمْ يُذْكَرْ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ غَنْمٍ وَإِنِّي لَتَحْتَ جِرَانِ رَاحِلَتِهِ وَزَادَ فِيهِ لَا يُقْبَلُ مِنْهُ عَدْلٌ وَلَا صَرْفٌ وَفِي حَدِيثِ هَمَّامٍ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ خَطَبَ وَقَالَ رَغْبَةً عَنْهُمْ

English Translation
ʿAffān narrated to us saying: Abū ʿAwānah narrated to us saying: Qatādah informed us, from Shahr ibn Ḥawshab, from ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Ghanm, from ʿAmr ibn Khārijah who said: I was holding the halter of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ's ﷺ she-camel while it was chewing its cud, and its saliva was dripping between my shoulders. He said, 'Allah عز وجل has given every rightful person his right, and there is no bequest for an heir. The child belongs to the bed, and the fornicator gets the stone. Whoever claims descent from other than his father or affiliates with other than his patrons, upon him is the curse of Allah, the angels, and all people.' ʿAffān said: Hammām added with this chain — without mentioning ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Ghanm — 'and I was under the neck of his mount,' and added: 'Neither ransom nor repentance will be accepted from him.' In Hammām's narration: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ gave a sermon and said, 'out of desire to leave them.'
