حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ غَيْلَانَ قَالَ ثَنَا رِشْدِينُ حَدَّثَنِي مُوسَى بْنُ عَلِيٍّ عَن أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْعَاصِ قَالَ قَالَ رَجُلٌ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَيُّ الْعَمَلِ أَفْضَلُ قَالَ إِيمَانٌ بِاللَّهِ وَتَصْدِيقٌ وَجِهَادٌ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ وَحَجٌّ مَبْرُورٌ قَالَ الرَّجُلُ أَكْث
َرْتَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَلِينُ الْكَلَامِ وَبَذْلُ الطَّعَامِ وَسَمَاحٌ وَحُسْنُ خُلُقٍ قَالَ الرَّجُلُ أُرِيدُ كَلِمَةً وَاحِدَةً قَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ اذْهَبْ فَلَا تَتَّهِمِ اللَّهَ عَلَى نَفْسِكَ

English Translation
ʿAmr ibn al-ʿĀṣ narrated: A man said, 'O Messenger of Allah, what is the best deed?' He said: 'Belief in Allah, affirmation, and jihād in the way of Allah, and an accepted ḥajj.' The man said: 'You have mentioned too many things, O Messenger of Allah.' the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Gentle speech, feeding others, generosity, and good character.' The man said: 'I want just one thing.' the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to him: 'Go, and do not suspect Allah regarding yourself.'
