حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنِ سِنَانِ بْنِ سَلَمَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ أَنَّ ذُؤَيْبًا أَبَا قَبِيصَةَ حَدَّثَهُ أَنَّ نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يَبْعَثُ بِالْبُدْنِ فَيَقُولُ إِنْ عَطِبَ مِنْهَا شَيْءٌ فَخَشِيتَ عَلَيْهِ فَانْحَرْهَا وَاغْمِسْ نَعْلَهَا فِي دَمِهَا وَاضْرِبْ صَفْحَتَهَا وَلَا تَأْكُلْ مِنْهَا أَنْتَ وَلَا أَحَدٌ مِنْ رُفْقَتِكَ
English Translation
Dhuʾayb Abū Qabīṣah رضي الله عنه narrated that the Prophet ﷺ used to send sacrificial animals and say: "If any of them becomes injured and you fear it will die, slaughter it, dip its shoe-marking in its blood, strike it on its flank, and do not eat from it — neither you nor anyone in your travel group."
