حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مُرَّةَ عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ أَبِي الْجَعْدِ عَنْ شُرَحْبِيلَ بْنِ السِّمْطِ قَالَ قَالَ لِكَعْبِ بْنِ مُرَّةَ يَا كَعْبُ بْنَ مُرَّةَ حَدِّثْنَا عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَاحْذَرْ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى الل
َّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ ارْمُوا أَهْلَ صُنْعٍ مَنْ بَلَغَ الْعَدُوَّ بِسَهْمٍ رَفَعَهُ اللَّهُ بِهِ دَرَجَةً قَالَ فَقَالَ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ أَبِي النَّحَّامِ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ وَمَا الدَّرَجَةُ قَالَ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَمَا إِنَّهَا لَيْسَتْ بِعَتَبَةِ أُمِّكَ وَلَكِنَّهَا بَيْنَ الدَّرَجَتَيْنِ مِائَةُ عَامٍ

English Translation
Abū Muʿāwiyah narrated to us, al-Aʿmash narrated to us, from ʿAmr ibn Murrah, from Sālim ibn Abī al-Jaʿd, from Shuraḥbīl ibn al-Simṭ, who said to Kaʿb ibn Murrah: 'O Kaʿb ibn Murrah, narrate to us from the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ, and be careful.' He said: 'I heard the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ saying: "Shoot, O people of skill! Whoever reaches the enemy with an arrow, Allāh will raise him a degree thereby."' ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Abī al-Naḥḥām said: 'O Messenger of Allāh, what is the degree?' The Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said: 'It is not the doorstep of your mother's house, but rather between the two degrees is a hundred years.'
