حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ وَعَفَّانُ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَاحِدِ بْنُ زِيَادٍ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو رَوْقٍ عَطِيَّةُ بْنُ الْحَارِثِ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْغَرِيفِ قَالَ عَفَّانُ أَبُو الْغَرِيفِ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ خَلِيفَةَ عَنْ صَفْوَانَ بْنِ عَسَّالٍ الْمُرَادِيِّ قَالَ بَعَثَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي
سَرِيَّةٍ فَقَالَ اغْزُوا بِسْمِ اللَّهِ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ وَلَا تَغُلُّوا وَلَا تَغْدِرُوا وَلَا تُمَثِّلُوا وَلَا تَقْتُلُوا وَلِيدًا لِلْمُسَافِرِ ثَلَاثٌ مَسْحٌ عَلَى الْخُفَّيْنِ وَلِلْمُقِيمِ يَوْمٌ وَلَيْلَةٌ قَالَ عَفَّانُ فِي حَدِيثِهِ بَعَثَنِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ

English Translation
Yūnus and ʿAffān said: ʿAbd al-Wāḥid ibn Ziyād narrated to us, Abū Rawq ʿAṭiyyah ibn al-Ḥārith narrated to us, Abū al-Gharīf narrated to us — ʿAffān said: Abū al-Gharīf is ʿAbdullāh ibn Khalīfah — from Ṣafwān ibn ʿAssāl al-Murādī, who said: The Messenger of Allāh ﷺ dispatched us in a military expedition and said: 'Go forth in the name of Allāh, in the cause of Allāh. Do not steal from the war spoils, do not betray, do not mutilate, and do not kill a child. For the traveler, three days of wiping over the leather socks, and for the resident, a day and a night.' ʿAffān said in his hadith: 'The Messenger of Allāh ﷺ dispatched me.'
