Hadith #367

English Translation

Ḥasan ibn Mūsā narrated to us, Ḥammād ibn Zayd narrated to us, from ʿĀṣim ibn Bahdālah, from Zirr ibn Ḥubaysh, who said: I came to Ṣafwān ibn ʿAssāl al-Murādī. He said: 'What brings you?' I said: 'Seeking knowledge.' He said: 'It has reached me that the angels lower their wings for the seeker of knowledge, being pleased with what he does.' He then mentioned the hadith. The Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said to him: 'A person is with those whom he loves.' He said: He continued narrating to me until he told me that Allāh عز وجل placed in the west a door whose width is a journey of seventy years for repentance. It will not be closed as long as the sun does not rise from its direction. And that is the saying of Allāh عز وجل: {The Day that some of the signs of your Lord come, no soul will benefit from its faith.}'
