Arabic Text
حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا دَاوُدُ عَنْ مَكْحُولٍ عَنْ أَبِي ثَعْلَبَةَ الْخُش
َنِيِّ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ أَحَبُّكُمْ إِلَيَّ وَأَقْرَبُكُمْ مِنِّي مَحَاسِنُكُمْ أَخْلَاقًا وَإِنَّ أَبْغَضَكُمْ إِلَيَّ وَأَبْعَدَكُمْ مِنِّي مَسَاوِيكُمْ أَخْلَاقًا الثَّرْثَارُونَ الْمُتَشَدِّقُونَ الْمُتَفَيْهِقُونَ

English Translation
Abū Thaʿlabah al-Khushanī narrated that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'The most beloved of you to me and the nearest of you to me are the best of you in character. And the most hateful of you to me and the farthest of you from me are the worst of you in character: the garrulous, the pompous, and the pretentious.'
