حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ حَدَّثَنِي هِشَامٌ عَنْ عُرْوَةَ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ أَنَّهُ حَدَّثَ عَنِ ابْنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ بْنِ شُعْبَةَ عَنْ عُمَرَ أَنَّهُ اسْتَشَار
َهُمْ فِي إِمْلَاصِ الْمَرْأَةِ فَقَالَ لَهُ الْمُغِيرَةُ قَضَى فِيهِ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِالْغُرَّةِ فَقَالَ لَهُ عُمَرُ إِنْ كُنْتَ صَادِقًا فَأْتِ بِأَحَدٍ يَعْلَمُ ذَلِكَ فَشَهِدَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مَسْلَمَةَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَضَى بِهِ

English Translation
Yazīd narrated to us, Ismāʿīl — meaning Ibn Abī Khālid — narrated to us, from al-Shaʿbī, from al-Mughīrah ibn Shuʿbah رضي الله عنه who said: ʿUmar ibn al-Khaṭṭāb رضي الله عنه consulted people about the miscarriage caused to a woman. al-Mughīrah said: the Prophet ﷺ judged it with a ghurrah — a male or female slave. ʿUmar said to him: 'If you are truthful, then bring someone who knows of that.' So Muḥammad ibn Maslamah testified that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ judged accordingly.
