English Translation
Muḥammad ibn Abī ʿAdī narrated to us, from Ḥumayd, from Bakr, from Ḥamzah ibn al-Mughīrah ibn Shuʿbah, from his father who said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ fell behind to relieve himself. Then he said: 'Do you have water for purification?' He said: So I followed him with a water vessel containing water. He washed his palms and face, then went to push back from his forearms, but the cloak's sleeves were tight, so he pulled his hands out from underneath the cloak. He washed his forearms, then wiped over his turban and leather socks. He mounted and I mounted my riding camel. We reached the people, and ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn ʿAwf had led them in one rakʿah. When he sensed the Prophet ﷺ, he went to step back, but he gestured to him to complete the prayer and said: 'Well done. Continue to do so.'
