English Translation
ʿAbd al-Raḥmān narrated to us, from Sufyān. Zayd ibn al-Ḥubāb narrated to us, Sufyān informed us — with the same meaning — from Manṣūr, from Ibrāhīm, from ʿUbayd ibn Nuḍaylah — Zayd said: al-Khuzāʿī — from al-Mughīrah ibn Shuʿbah Two co-wives — one struck the other with a tent pole and killed her. the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ruled the blood money upon the male relatives of the killer, and for what was in her womb a ghurrah. A Bedouin said: 'You make me pay for one who neither ate, nor drank, nor cried out, nor raised his voice? Such a one's blood is to be shed in vain!' the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Rhymed prose like the rhymed prose of the Bedouins. For what was in her womb: a ghurrah.'
