English Translation
ʿAbd al-Raḥmān narrated to us, Zāʾidah narrated to us, from Ziyād ibn ʿIlāqah who said: I heard al-Mughīrah ibn Shuʿbah saying: The sun was eclipsed during the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on the day Ibrāhīm died. The people said: 'It was eclipsed because of the death of Ibrāhīm.' the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'The sun and moon are two signs from among the signs of Allah. They do not eclipse for the death of anyone nor for the life of anyone. When you see it, call upon Allah and pray until it clears.'
