English Translation
Isḥāq ibn Yūsuf narrated to us, Zakariyyā ibn Abī Zāʾidah narrated to us, from al-Shaʿbī, from ʿUrwah ibn al-Mughīrah, from his father who said: I was with the Prophet ﷺ one night during a march. He said: 'Do you have water?' I said: 'Yes.' He dismounted from his riding camel, then walked until he disappeared from me in the darkness of the night. Then he came and I poured water from the vessel for him. He washed his face. He was wearing a narrow-sleeved woolen cloak and could not pull his forearms out of it, so he pulled them out from underneath the cloak. He washed his forearms and wiped over his head. Then I reached to remove his leather socks, but he said: 'Leave them, for I put them on in a state of purity.' And he wiped over them.
