حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ وَحَجَّاجٌ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ مُجَاهِدًا يُحَدِّثُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي عَقَّارُ بْنُ الْمُغِيرَةِ بْنِ شُعْبَةَ حَدِيثًا فَلَمَّا خَرَجْتُ مِنْ عِنْدِهِ لَمْ أُمْعِنْ حِفْظَهُ فَرَجَعْتُ إِلَيْهِ أَنَا وَصَاحِبٌ لِي فَلَقِيتُ
حَسَّانَ بْنَ أَبِي وَجْزَةَ وَقَدْ خَرَجَ مِنْ عِنْدِهِ فَقَالَ مَا جَاءَ بِكَ فَقُلْتُ كَذَا وَكَذَا فَقَالَ حَسَّانُ حَدَّثَنَاهُ عَقَّارٌ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ لَمْ يَتَوَكَّلْ مَنْ اكْتَوَى وَاسْتَرْقَى

English Translation
Muḥammad ibn Jaʿfar and Ḥajjāj narrated to us, they said: Shuʿbah narrated to us, from Manṣūr who said: I heard Mujāhid narrating. He said: ʿAqqār ibn al-Mughīrah ibn Shuʿbah narrated to me a ḥadīth. When I left him, I had not fully memorized it, so I went back to him with a companion of mine. I met Ḥassān ibn Abī Wajzah, who had just come from him, and he said: 'What brings you?' I said: 'Such-and-such.' Ḥassān said: 'ʿAqqār narrated it to us from his father, from the Prophet ﷺ, that he said: "He has not relied (upon Allah) who cauterized himself or sought ruqyah."'
