حَدَّثَنَا مُعْتَمِرٌ قَال
َ سَمِعْتُ أَيُّوبَ قَالَ وَحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الطُّفَاوِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَيُّوبُ الْمَعْنَي عَنْ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ هِلَالٍ عَنْ أَبِي بُرْدَةَ عَنْ رَجُلٍ مِنْ الْمُهَاجِرِينَ يَقُولُ سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ تُوبُوا إِلَى اللَّهِ وَاسْتَغْفِرُوهُ فَإِنِّي أَتُوبُ إِلَى اللَّهِ وَأَسْتَغْفِرُهُ فِي كُلِّ يَوْمٍ مِائَةَ مَرَّةٍ أَوْ أَكْثَرَ مِنْ مِائَةِ مَرَّةٍ

English Translation
Muʿtamir narrated to us, he said: I heard Ayyūb — and Muḥammad ibn ʿAbd al-Raḥmān al-Ṭufāwī narrated to us, he said: Ayyūb narrated to us with the same meaning — from Ḥumayd ibn Hilāl, from Abū Burdah, from a man of the Muhājirūn who said: I heard the Prophet ﷺ saying: 'O people, repent to Allah and seek His forgiveness, for I repent to Allah and seek His forgiveness every day a hundred times or more than a hundred times.'
