حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى عَنْ شُعْبَةَ حَدَّثَنِي زِيَادُ بْنُ عِلَاقَةَ عَنْ عَرْفَجَةَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ تَكُونُ هَنَاتٌ وَهَنَاتٌ فَمَنْ أَرَادَ أَنْ يُفَرِّقَ أَمْرَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ وَهُمْ جَمِيعٌ فَاضْرِبُوهُ بِالسَّيْفِ كَائِنًا م
َنْ كَانَ حَدَّثَنَا هَاشِمُ بْنُ الْقَاسِمِ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ زِيَادِ بْنِ عِلَاقَةَ عَنْ عَرْفَجَةَ الْأَشْجَعِيِّ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ قَالَ وَقَالَ شَيْبَانُ ابْنِ شُرَيْحٍ الْأَسْلَمِيِّ فَذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ

English Translation
Yaḥyā narrated to us, from Shuʿbah, Ziyād ibn ʿIlāqah narrated to me, from ʿArfajah رضي الله عنه who said: I heard the Prophet ﷺ saying: 'There will be trials and tribulations. Whoever wants to divide the affairs of the Muslims while they are united, strike him with the sword, whoever he may be.' Hāshim ibn al-Qāsim narrated to us, Shuʿbah narrated to us, from Ziyād ibn ʿIlāqah, from ʿArfajah al-Ashjaʿī, that he heard the Prophet ﷺ say the same. And Shaybān said: Ibn Shurayḥ al-Aslamī — and he mentioned the hadith.
