حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنِ الْحَكَمِ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا وَائِلٍ قَالَ لَمَّا بَعَثَ
عَلِيٌّ عَمَّارًا وَالْحَسَنَ إِلَى الْكُوفَةِ لِيَسْتَنْفِرَاهُمْ فَخَطَبَ عَمَّارٌ فَقَالَ إِنِّي لَأَعْلَمُ أَنَّهَا زَوْجَتُهُ فِي الدُّنْيَا وَالْآخِرَةِ وَلَكِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ ابْتَلَاكُمْ لِتَتَّبِعُوهُ أَوْ إِيَّاهَا
Isnad Chain
English Translation
Muḥammad ibn Jaʿfar narrated to us, Shuʿbah narrated to us, from al-Ḥakam, who said: I heard Abū Wāʾil who said: When ʿAlī sent ʿAmmār and al-Ḥasan to Kūfah to rally them, ʿAmmār رضي الله عنه gave a sermon and said: 'I know that she is his wife in this world and the Hereafter, but Allah عز وجل has tested you to see whether you follow him or her.'
