Hadith #576

English Translation
Ismāʿīl narrated to us, Khālid narrated to us, from Abū al-ʿAlāʾ ibn al-Shikhkhīr, from his brother Muṭarrif, from ʿIyāḍ ibn Ḥimār رضي الله عنه who said: I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying: 'Whoever picks up a lost item, let him have one or two just witnesses. Then let him not conceal or hide it. If its owner comes, he has more right to it. Otherwise, it is the wealth of Allah — He gives it to whom He wills.'
