English Translation

ʿAbd al-Razzāq narrated to us, Isrāʾīl informed us, from Simāk, that he heard al-Nuʿmān ibn Bashīr رضي الله عنه giving a sermon, saying: 'Praise be to Allah تعالى. Sometimes a whole month would pass upon the Messenger of Allah ﷺ during which he would writhe in hunger, unable to fill himself with poor-quality dates.'
