English Translation

Hāshim ibn al-Qāsim narrated to us, Shuʿbah narrated to us, from ʿĀṣim ibn Kulayb who said: I heard my father narrating from Wāʾil al-Ḥaḍramī, that he saw the Prophet ﷺ pray. He pronounced the takbīr and raised his hands. When he bowed, he raised his hands. When he raised his head from bowing, he raised his hands. He spread his arms in bowing and spread them in prostration. When he sat for the tashahhud, he placed his right thigh over the left, placed his right hand, pointed with his index finger, and made a ring with his middle finger. Aswad ibn ʿĀmir narrated to us, Shuʿbah narrated to us, from ʿĀṣim ibn Kulayb who said: I heard my father narrating from Wāʾil ibn Ḥujr al-Ḥaḍramī, that he saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ — and he mentioned it, adding: 'He placed his right hand over the left.' Shuʿbah added on another occasion: 'When he was in bowing, he placed his hands on his knees and spread apart in bowing.'
