English Translation
Yazīd narrated to us, al-Masʿūdī informed us, from al-Rukayn ibn al-Rabīʿ, from a man, from Khuraym ibn Fātik who said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Deeds are six, and people are four: two deeds are guaranteed [to determine one's fate], one is like for like, one good deed earns ten times its like, one good deed earns seven hundred times its like. As for the two guaranteed: whoever dies not associating anything with Allah enters Paradise, and whoever dies associating something with Allah enters the Fire. As for like for like: whoever intends a good deed until his heart is aware of it and Allah knows it from him, it is written for him as a good deed. Whoever commits an evil deed, one evil deed is written against him. Whoever does a good deed, it is multiplied ten times. Whoever spends in the way of Allah, a good deed is multiplied seven hundred times. As for the four types of people: one who is given abundance in this world but restricted in the Hereafter, one restricted in this world but given abundance in the Hereafter, one restricted in both this world and the Hereafter, and one given abundance in both.'
