English Translation

Wakīʿ narrated to us, Ḥammād ibn Salamah narrated to us, from Abū al-ʿUsharāʾ, from his father, who said: I said: "O Messenger of Allah, is slaughtering only valid at the throat or the upper chest?" He said: "Even if you pierced its thigh, it would suffice for you." ʿAffān narrated to us, Ḥammād ibn Salamah narrated to us, from Abū al-ʿUsharāʾ, from his father, from the Prophet ﷺ — a similar narration. He said: And I heard him say: "By your father." Hudbah ibn Khālid and Ibrāhīm ibn al-Ḥajjāj narrated to us, they said: Ḥammād ibn Salamah narrated to us, Abū al-ʿUsharāʾ narrated to us, from his father, from the Prophet ﷺ — like the hadith of Wakīʿ. Ḥawthara ibn Ashras narrated to us, Ḥammād ibn Salamah narrated to us — and he mentioned a similar narration.
