Hadith #568

English Translation

ʿAbd al-Ṣamad narrated to us, my father narrated to me, Ḥusayn — meaning al-Muʿallim — narrated to us, from Ibn Buraydah, Ḥanẓalah ibn ʿAlī narrated to me, that Miḥjan ibn al-Adraʿ narrated to him that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ entered the mosque and found a man who had finished his prayer. He was making the tashahhud and saying: "O Allah, I ask You by Allah, the One, the Only, the Eternal Refuge, Who begets not and was not begotten, and there is none comparable to Him — that You forgive me my sins, for You are the Most Forgiving, the Most Merciful." the Prophet ﷺ of Allah ﷺ said: "He has been forgiven, he has been forgiven, he has been forgiven" — three times.
