حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ حَدَّثَنَا زَكَرِيَّا عَنْ أَبِي الْقَاسِمِ الْجَدَلِيِّ قَالَ أَبِي و حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ أَخْبَرَنَا زَكَرِيَّا عَنْ حُسَيْنِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ أَبِي الْقَاسِمِ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ النُّعْمَانَ بْنَ بَشِيرٍ قَالَ أَقْبَلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص
َلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِوَجْهِهِ عَلَى النَّاسِ فَقَالَ أَقِيمُوا صُفُوفَكُمْ ثَلَاثًا وَاللَّهِ لَتُقِيمُنَّ صُفُوفَكُمْ أَوْ لَيُخَالِفَنَّ اللَّهُ بَيْنَ قُلُوبِكُمْ قَالَ فَرَأَيْتُ الرَّجُلَ يُلْزِقُ كَعْبَهُ بِكَعْبِ صَاحِبِهِ وَرُكْبَتَهُ بِرُكْبَتِهِ وَمَنْكِبَهُ بِمَنْكِبِهِ

English Translation
Wakīʿ narrated to us: Zakariyyā narrated to us, from Abū al-Qāsim al-Jadalī — my father said: and Yazīd ibn Hārūn narrated to us: Zakariyyā informed us, from Ḥusayn ibn al-Ḥārith Abū al-Qāsim — that he heard al-Nuʿmān ibn Bashīr say: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ turned his face toward the people and said: 'Straighten your rows' — three times — 'By Allah, you shall straighten your rows or Allah will cause discord among your hearts.' He said: I saw the man pressing his ankle against his companion's ankle, his knee against his knee, and his shoulder against his shoulder.
