حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ حَدَّثَنَا هَمَّامٌ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنِ ا
لْحَسَنِ عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَى الْأَشْعَرِيِّ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَالَّذِي نَفْسُ مُحَمَّدٍ بِيَدِهِ إِنَّ الْمَعْرُوفَ وَالْمُنْكَرَ خَلِيقَتَانِ يُنْصَبَانِ لِلنَّاسِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ فَأَمَّا الْمَعْرُوفُ فَيُبَشِّرُ أَصْحَابَهُ وَيُوعِدُهُمْ الْخَيْرَ وَأَمَّا الْمُنْكَرُ فَيَقُولُ إِلَيْكُمْ إِلَيْكُمْ وَمَا يَسْتَطِيعُونَ لَهُ إِلَّا لُزُومًا

English Translation
ʿAbd al-Ṣamad narrated to us, Hammām narrated to us, from Qatādah, from al-Ḥasan, from Abū Mūsā al-Ashʿarī, who said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'By the One in whose hand is the soul of Muḥammad, good deeds and evil deeds are two creatures that will be set up before people on the Day of Resurrection. As for good deeds, it will give glad tidings to its people and promise them good. As for evil deeds, it will say: Away! Away! Yet they will have no escape from it except by clinging to it.'
