English Translation

ʿAbd al-Ṣamad narrated to us, Yazīd, meaning Ibn Ibrāhīm, narrated to us, Layth informed us, from Abū Burdah, from ʿAbd Allāh ibn Qays, who said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ led us in prayer, then said: 'Stay in your places.' Then he went to the men and said: 'Allah عز وجل commands me to command you to fear Allah تعالى and to speak an upright word.' Then he went through to the women and said to them: 'Allah عز وجل commands me to command you to fear Allah and to speak an upright word.' Then he returned to the men and said: 'When you enter the mosques and marketplaces of the Muslims while carrying arrows, hold them by their points so that you do not strike anyone with them and injure or wound them.'
