حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ عَنْ الْمَسْعُودِيِّ وَيَزِيدُ قَالَ أَنْبَأَنَا الْمَسْعُودِيُّ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مُرَّةَ عَنْ أَبِي عُبَيْدَةَ عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَى الْأَشْعَرِيِّ قَالَ سَمَّى لَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللّ
َهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَفْسَهُ أَسْمَاءً مِنْهَا مَا حَفِظْنَا فَقَالَ أَنَا مُحَمَّدٌ وَأَحْمَدُ وَالْمُقَفِّي وَالْحَاشِرُ وَنَبِيُّ الرَّحْمَةِ قَالَ يَزِيدُ وَنَبِيُّ التَّوْبَةِ وَنَبِيُّ الْمَلْحَمَةِ

English Translation
Wakīʿ narrated to us, from al-Masʿūdī — and Yazīd said: al-Masʿūdī informed us — from ʿAmr ibn Murrah, from Abū ʿUbaydah, from Abū Mūsā al-Ashʿarī, who said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ named himself to us with names, some of which we memorized. He said: 'I am Muḥammad, Aḥmad, al-Muqaffī [the Last], al-Ḥāshir [the Gatherer], and the Prophet ﷺ of Mercy.' Yazīd [added]: 'and the Prophet ﷺ of Repentance, and the Prophet ﷺ of Battle.'
