حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ وَابْنُ جَعْفَرٍ أَخْبَرَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مُرَّةَ عَنْ أَبِي عُبَيْدَةَ عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَى ال
ْأَشْعَرِيِّ قَالَ ابْنُ جَعْفَرٍ فِي حَدِيثِهِ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا عُبَيْدَةَ يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَى قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِنَّ اللَّهَ تَعَالَى يَبْسُطُ يَدَهُ بِاللَّيْلِ لِيَتُوبَ مُسِيءُ النَّهَارِ وَيَبْسُطُ يَدَهُ بِالنَّهَارِ لِيَتُوبَ مُسِيءُ اللَّيْلِ حَتَّى تَطْلُعَ الشَّمْسُ مِنْ مَغْرِبِهَا

English Translation
ʿAbd al-Raḥmān narrated to us, Shuʿbah narrated to us — and Ibn Jaʿfar [said]: Shuʿbah informed us — from ʿAmr ibn Murrah, from Abū ʿUbaydah, from Abū Mūsā al-Ashʿarī — Ibn Jaʿfar said in his narration: I heard Abū ʿUbaydah narrating from Abū Mūsā — who said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Allah تعالى extends His hand at night so that the sinner of the day may repent, and extends His hand during the day so that the sinner of the night may repent, until the sun rises from its west.'
