حَدَّثَنَا مُعْتَمِرُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ التَّيْمِيُّ قَالَ قَرَأْتُ عَلَى الْفُضَيْلِ بْنِ مَيْسَرَةَ حَدِيثَ أَبِي حَرِيزٍ أَنَّ أَبَا بُرْدَةَ حَدَّثَهُ قَالَ أَوْصَى أَبُو مُوسَى حِينَ حَضَرَهُ الْمَوْتُ فَقَالَ إِذَا انْطَلَقْتُمْ بِجِنَازَتِي فَأَسْرِعُوا الْمَشْيَ وَلَا يَتَّبِعُنِي مُجَمَّرٌ وَلَا تَجْعَلُوا فِ
ي لَحْدِي شَيْئًا يَحُولُ بَيْنِي وَبَيْنَ التُّرَابِ وَلَا تَجْعَلُوا عَلَى قَبْرِي بِنَاءً وَأُشْهِدُكُمْ أَنَّنِي بَرِيءٌ مِنْ كُلِّ حَالِقَةٍ أَوْ سَالِقَةٍ أَوْ خَارِقَةٍ قَالُوا أَوَسَمِعْتَ فِيهِ شَيْئًا قَالَ نَعَمْ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ

English Translation
Muʿtamir ibn Sulaymān al-Taymī narrated to us, he said: I read to al-Fuḍayl ibn Maysarah the ḥadīth of Abū Ḥarīz, that Abū Burdah narrated to him, he said: Abū Mūsā gave instructions when death approached him, saying: 'When you carry my bier, walk quickly with it. No incense-burner should follow me, and do not place anything in my grave that comes between me and the soil. Do not build anything over my grave. And I call you to witness that I am innocent of every woman who shaves [her head in mourning], wails loudly, or tears [her garments].' They said: 'Did you hear anything about this?' He said: 'Yes, from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.'
