حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَابِقٍ حَدَّثَنَا رَبِيعٌ يَعْنِي أَبَا سَعِيدٍ النَّصْرِيَّ عَن مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ عَن أَبِي بُرْدَةَ قَالَ أَبُو بُرْدَةَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ إِنَّ هَذ
ِهِ الْأُمَّةَ مَرْحُومَةٌ جَعَلَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ عَذَابَهَا بَيْنَهَا فَإِذَا كَانَ يَوْمُ الْقِيَامَةِ دُفِعَ إِلَى كُلِّ امْرِئٍ مِنْهُمْ رَجُلٌ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْأَدْيَانِ فَقَالَ هَذَا يَكُونُ فِدَاءَكَ مِنْ النَّارِ

English Translation
Muḥammad ibn Sābiq narrated to us, Rabīʿ — meaning Abū Saʿīd al-Naṣrī — narrated to us, from Muʿāwiyah ibn Isḥāq, from Abū Burdah, who said: Abū Burdah said: My father narrated to me that he heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: 'This Ummah is one shown mercy. Allah عز وجل has placed its punishment among its members (in worldly calamities). On the Day of Resurrection, each one of them will be given a man from the people of other religions, and it will be said: This will be your ransom from the Fire.'
