حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجٌ أَخْبَرَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ أَبِي حَمْزَةَ جَارِهِمْ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ حُمَيْدَ بْنَ

هِلَالٍ يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مُطَرِّفٍ عَنْ أَبِي بَرْزَةَ قَالَ كَانَ أَبْغَضَ النَّاسِ أَوْ أَبْغَضَ الْأَحْيَاءِ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ثَقِيفُ وَبَنُو حَنِيفَةَ

English Translation

Ḥajjāj narrated to us, Shuʿbah informed us, from Abū Ḥamzah — their neighbor — who said: I heard Ḥumayd ibn Hilāl narrating from ʿAbd Allāh ibn Muṭarrif, from Abū Barzah who said: The most hated people — or the most hated of the living — to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ were Thaqīf and Banū Ḥanīfah.
