حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي عَدِيٍّ عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ يَعْنِي التَّيْمِيَّ عَنْ أَبِي الْعَلَاءِ عَنْ مُطَرِّفٍ عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ أَنَّ النَّب
ِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ لَهُ أَوْ لِغَيْرِهِ هَلْ صُمْتَ سِرَارَ هَذَا الشَّهْرِ قَالَ لَا قَالَ فَإِذَا أَفْطَرْتَ أَوْ أَفْطَرَ النَّاسُ فَصُمْ يَوْمَيْنِ

English Translation
Muhammad ibn Abī ‘Adī narrated to us, from Sulaymān — meaning al-Taymī — from Abū al-‘Alā’, from Mutarrif, from ‘Imrān ibn Husayn, that the Prophet ﷺ said to him — or to someone else: Did you fast the latter days of this month? He said: No. He said: When the people break their fast (after Ramadān), fast two days.
