English Translation
Abd al-Razzāq narrated to us: Sufyān informed us, from al-A‘mash, from Khaythamah — or from a man — from ‘Imrān ibn Husayn, who said: He passed by a man who was reciting Qur’ān to a group of people. When he finished, he asked them for money. ‘Imrān said: To Allāh we belong and to Him we return! I heard the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ say: Whoever recites the Qur’ān, let him ask Allāh — blessed and exalted is He — by it, for there shall come people who recite the Qur’ān and ask people by it.
