حَدَّثَنَا مَحْبُوبُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدٌ الْحَذَّاءُ عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ عَنْ أَبِي الْمُهَلَّبِ عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَي

ْنٍ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَمَّا بَلَغَهُ وَفَاةُ النَّجَاشِيِّ قَالَ إِنَّ أَخَاكُمْ النَّجَاشِيَّ قَدْ مَاتَ فَصَلُّوا عَلَيْهِ فَقَامَ فَصَلَّى عَلَيْهِ وَالنَّاسُ خَلْفَهُ

English Translation

Mahbūb ibn al-Hasan narrated to us: Khālid al-Hadhdhā’ narrated to us, from Abū Qilābah, from Abū al-Muhallab, from ‘Imrān ibn Husayn, that when the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ was informed of the death of the Negūs, he said: Your brother the Negūs has died, so pray over him. He stood and prayed over him, and the people prayed behind him.
