حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَامِرٍ حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ عَنْ يَحْيَى عَن أَبِي قِلَابَةَ عَنْ أَبِي الْمُهَلَّبِ عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ أَنَّ امْرَأَةً مِنْ جُهَيْنَةَ أَتَتْ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهِيَ حُبْلَى مِنْ زِنًا فَقَالَتْ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَصَبْتُ حَدًّا فَأَقِمْهُ عَلَيَّ فَدَعَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَلِيَّهَا فَق
َالَ أَحْسِنْ إِلَيْهَا فَإِذَا وَضَعَتْ حَمْلَهَا فَأْتِنِي بِهَا فَفَعَلَ فَأَمَرَ بِهَا فَشُكَّتْ عَلَيْهَا ثِيَابُهَا ثُمَّ أَمَرَ بِهَا فَرُجِمَتْ ثُمَّ صَلَّى عَلَيْهَا فَقَالَ لَهُ عُمَرُ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى عَنْهُ تُصَلِّي عَلَيْهَا وَقَدْ رَجَمْتَهَا فَقَالَ لَقَدْ تَابَتْ تَوْبَةً لَوْ قُسِمَتْ بَيْنَ سَبْعِينَ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْمَدِينَةِ لَوَسِعَتْهُمْ وَهَلْ وَجَدْتَ أَفْضَلَ مِنْ أَنْ جَادَتْ بِنَفْسِهَا لِلَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ
English Translation
Abū ʿĀmir narrated to us, Hishām narrated to us, from Yaḥyā, from Abū Qilābah, from Abū al-Muhallab, from ʿImrān ibn Ḥuṣayn, that a woman from Juhaynah came to the Prophet ﷺ while pregnant from fornication. She said: ‘O Messenger of Allah, I have committed a ḥadd offense, so carry it out on me.’ the Messenger of Allah ﷺ called her guardian and said: ‘Treat her well, and when she delivers, bring her to me.’ He did so. Then he ordered that her garments be fastened tightly upon her, then he ordered her to be stoned, then he prayed over her. ʿUmar رضي الله تعالى عنه said to him: ‘You pray over her when she has been stoned?’ He said: ‘She has repented a repentance that, if divided among seventy of the people of Madinah, would suffice them. And have you found anything better than her giving herself to Allah عز وجل?’
