Arabic Text
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنْ أَبِي رَجَاءٍ الْعُطَارِدِيِّ قَالَ جَاءَ عِمْرَانُ بْنُ حُصَيْنٍ إِلَى امْرَأَتِهِ مِنْ عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ
وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَتْ حَدِّثْنَا مَا سَمِعْتَ مِنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ إِنَّهُ لَيْسَ بِعَيْنِ حَدِيثٍ فَأَغْضَبَتْهُ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ نَظَرْتُ فِي الْجَنَّةِ فَرَأَيْتُ أَكْثَرَ أَهْلِهَا الْفُقَرَاءَ وَنَظَرْتُ فِي النَّارِ فَرَأَيْتُ أَكْثَرَ أَهْلِهَا النِّسَاءَ

English Translation
ʿAbd al-Razzāq narrated to us, Maʿmar informed us, from Qatādah, from Abū Rajāʿ al-ʿUṭāridī, who said: ʿImrān ibn Ḥuṣayn came to his wife from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. She said: ‘Tell us what you heard from the Prophet ﷺ.’ He said: ‘It is not something to be narrated casually.’ She angered him, so he said: ‘I heard the Prophet ﷺ say: "I looked into Paradise and saw that most of its inhabitants were the poor, and I looked into the Fire and saw that most of its inhabitants were women."’
