حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ الْمُفَضَّلِ حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سِيرِينَ عَنْ أَبِي الْمُهَلَّبِ عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ أَنَّ
رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ إِنَّ أَخَاكُمْ النَّجَاشِيَّ قَدْ مَاتَ فَقُومُوا فَصَلُّوا عَلَيْهِ قَالَ فَقُمْنَا فَصَفَفْنَا عَلَيْهِ كَمَا نَصُفُّ عَلَى الْمَيِّتِ وَصَلَّيْنَا عَلَيْهِ كَمَا نُصَلِّي عَلَى الْمَيِّتِ

English Translation
ʿAffān narrated to us, Bishr ibn al-Mufaḍḍal narrated to us, Yūnus ibn ʿUbayd narrated to us, from Muḥammad ibn Sīrīn, from Abū al-Muhallab, from ʿImrān ibn Ḥuṣayn, that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: ‘Your brother the Negus has died, so stand and pray over him.’ He said: We stood and formed rows over him as we form rows over the deceased, and we prayed over him as we pray over the deceased.
