English Translation
Yaḥyā ibn Sa‘īd narrated to us, from Bahz ibn Ḥakīm ibn Mu‘āwiyah ibn Ḥaydah al-Qushayrī, who said: My father narrated to me, from my grandfather, who said: I said: ‘O Messenger of Allāh, our women — what may we approach of them and what must we avoid?’ He said: ‘Your tilth — approach your tilth however you wish, provided that you do not strike the face, do not revile, and feed when you are fed, and clothe when you clothe yourself, and do not abandon except within the house. How [can you mistreat her] when you have been intimate with one another, except for what is lawful regarding them?’”
